Toddlers (Chestnut) & Two-Year-Olds (Oak)

Our Oak and Chestnut classrooms guide children from exploration to independence. At this age, curiosity expands into confidence — as toddlers begin recognizing routines, expressing emotions, and discovering their own abilities through play, movement, and gentle structure.

What We Focus On

  • Potty Training & Self-Care: The first lessons in responsibility. Children learn to listen to their bodies, practice hygiene, and take pride in self-care routines with calm, consistent support.
  • Early Literacy & Math: Names, numbers, shapes, and colors come to life through music, rhythm, and movement — turning learning into joyful repetition and discovery.
  • Cognitive Development: Puzzles, sorting, and sequencing teach problem-solving and cause-and-effect — the groundwork for structured thinking.
  • Social & Emotional Growth: As “mine” becomes “ours,” children learn empathy, patience, and friendship. Teachers guide them to express feelings and needs with words instead of actions.
  • Communication & Expression: Language becomes a bridge — helping children name emotions, describe experiences, and begin forming early conversations.

Our Distinctive Touch

Reggio Emilia Approach: Every object, sound, and texture becomes part of the lesson. Classrooms invite open exploration with natural materials, soft light, and sensory experiences that build focus and curiosity. Teachers follow each child’s interests — expanding on their discoveries through questions, movement, and real-world materials. The environment itself teaches — nurturing independence, joy, and early wonder for God’s creation.

Faith Integration: Faith is modeled through calm guidance and loving consistency. Children pray, sing, and share moments of gratitude, learning that kindness and care reflect God’s love in action.

Assessment and Portfolios:
Teachers conduct 3 assessments a year to help develop goals for each individual child. Students progress is documented through portfolios that contain dated samples of each childs work, photos, and art pieces. Portfolios are sent home at the end of the school year to be shared and treasured for a lifetime.
